During the Holidays baking is a favorite pastime for many people.  If you like to bake with your children, it can be a great time to help them practice some of the skills they have been learning at school.

Baking together can create connection and a great learning opportunity!

🎄Depending on reading levels, you can have your little helper read the recipe to you, or at the least ask them to read words that are on their level.

🎄Math skills are put to use when measuring ingredients (fractions are all the rage in baking too)

🎄You can reinforce the need to add or multiply fractions  if you are doubling a recipe.

Bonus skills:

🎁 Science- as the baked goods are baking you could discuss chemical vs. physical changes.

🎁 Social skills- You gotta be patient to wait for that delicious goodness to be ready to eat. And sharing treats is an amazing way to show kindness and friendship.

Applying skills in real-life situations help to reinforce the importance of learning lifelong skills. 🫶
